In partnership with Wimbledon Guitar Society, the culmination of our WiGS Guitar Day is a recital by the unique artist Laura Snowden.
Programme to include music by Francisco Tárrega, Stanley Myers, the Argentine composer María Luisa Anido and the Paraguayan composer Agustín Barrios, alongside her own evocative compositions, unique vocalisations and Celtic folk arrangements.
Guitarist Laura Snowden is ‘a true musician whose interpretative capabilities are profound and exciting’ (Classical Guitar Magazine) and was recently praised by The Guardian for a ‘poignant, mesmerising show – [she] held the Wigmore Hall rapt’. Alongside recitals and concertos with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, she has since gone on to forge her own creative and authentic path as a guitarist, composer and vocalist in classical, folk and contemporary music, with storytelling at its heart.
