Jérémie Queyras, painter

Charlotte Spruit, violin

Artist Jérémie Queyras’ works have been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Shanghai, Basel, Barcelona, and Vienna. He will create a triptych of large and strikingly vivid paintings – live – alongside a performance by violinist Charlotte Spruit of unaccompanied works by Bach and Bartók. Described by Gramophone as ‘an artist whose technique and musicality are matched by a broader artistic imagination.’, Spruit won all major prizes at the Leipzig International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in 2022 and was selected as one of Classic FM’s ‘Rising Stars’ of 2024. This season she appears as soloist in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

Programme:

Live, large-scale painting to solo violin music:
Bach – Violin Sonata in C major BWV 1005
Bartók – Sonata for Solo Violin Sz. 117 BB 124

Paintings will be available to purchase after the performance. Please contact anthony.friend@wimbledonmusicfestival.co.uk for further details.
