Gramophone Award-winning mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston joins renowned pianist and Oxford International Song Festival founder Sholto Kynoch for a recital of Schumann’s Dichterliebe – a heart-wrenching song cycle setting the poetry of Heinrich Heine – alongside other Heine settings. Acclaimed for her expressive delivery and poetic sensitivity, Charlston was a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and winner of both BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone awards for her album Battle Cry. Together with Kynoch, a leading interpreter of art song, this recital explores themes of love, loss and lyrical beauty.
