An international viola superstar, Lawrence Power is widely heralded for his richness of sound, technical mastery and passionate advocacy for new music. He has been guest soloist with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and is a noted chamber musician with the Nash and Wigmore Ensembles.
Starting out as a violist he does play the violin in recitals: “The viola is my mother tongue. It’s what I do. But it’s possible to speak other languages, even if perhaps you have an accent.”
