Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Bach
Angela Hewitt, piano
We are thrilled to welcome Angela Hewitt back to the festival for a third time. ‘One of the great interpreters of Bach of our time’ (Gramophone), Hewitt is internationally renowned for her poetic insight and refined musicianship. A regular guest at the world’s leading halls, from Carnegie Hall to the Concertgebouw, her recordings for Hyperion – including complete cycles of keyboard works by Mozart, Ravel and Bach – have won widespread acclaim for their clarity, intelligence and expressive depth.
Her closing recital spans the elegance and invention of Mozart and Haydn, the warmth of Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Sonata, and the charm of Schubert’s waltzes, culminating in Bach’s monumental Partita No. 2. This will be a recital of the highest international calibre – a fitting conclusion to the 2026 Festival.
