Marking the 400th anniversary of John Dowland’s death, this candlelit programme weaves together lute songs and instrumental works with music by Purcell and Robert Johnson, alongside contemporary reflections by Errollyn Wallen and Cheryl Frances-Hoad. Soprano Ruby Hughes is admired for her ‘clean and intensely expressive singing’ (The Times), having performed around the world in major opera houses and venues like the Wigmore Hall, Vienna Musikverrein and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
