Lodestar Trio is a unique collaboration between Scandinavian folk music stars Erik Rydvall and Olav Mjelva, and British-German violin virtuoso Max Baillie. The dazzling counterpoint and folk-inspired dances of Bach and his contemporaries are reimagined in a Nordic soundscape. In this candle-lit concert of Baroque music, you will be transported to a world of frozen fjords, cozy fires and plentiful beers with the help of a 14th-century Swedish nyckelharpa – a cross between a violin and a hurdy-gurdy – and Norwegian hardanger fiddle, whose origin story includes trolls and dragons.
