The Philharmonia returns with a radiant programme celebrating the refined, sensuous world of Maurice Ravel in his 150th birthday year, led by conductor Robin O’Neill. Violist Timothy Ridout stars in Britten’s Lachrymae, alongside Ravel’s Pavane and Tombeau de Couperin and Poulenc’s dazzling Sinfonietta. With the artistry of Ridout – an international concerto soloist and chamber music legend – and the Philharmonia’s trademark brilliance and range of orchestral colour, this promises to be a standout concert.
This concert follows a day of educational workshops for children from Wimbledon and Merton
