Tenebrae Concert by Candlelight

The award-winning choir Tenebrae, under its Director Nigel Short, is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles renowned for its beauty of sound and precision.

The first half of this programme focusses on the music coming from the great churches of Rome: the Basilica of St John Lateran (Lassus), the Sistine Chapel (Allegri), the Papal Coronation (Palestrina, and Gregorian Chant).

The second half focusses on connections to Westminster Abbey (Croft and Purcell), composers who lived in London (Holst) and connections to Catholicism: Path of Miracles (based on the Pilgrimage to Santiago).
